Fantasy Friday on the Rocks - Wings & Wildflowers

Some creatures are born for war. Others choose softness despite it. This week’s Fantasy Friday on the Rocks honors one who carries both—scarred wings, wildflowers in his wake, and a heart that reminds us gentleness is its own kind of strength.

Who says Abraxos doesn't deserve his own drink?!

A toast to the wyvern who could have been a monster but chose tenderness. He’s all claws and battle cries—yet he takes time to sniff the flowers. He chooses love in a world that never expected it of him. And in doing so, he reminds us that true strength isn’t just in the fight—but in what you fight for.

This drink reflects that same contradiction. Bold bourbon for the beast. Lavender and lemon for the softness he keeps tucked beneath scale and scar. A dash of bitters, because even the gentlest hearts carry shadows—and some stories are written in both blood and bloom.

Wings & Wildflowers Cocktail Recipe

Ingredients:

2 oz bourbon (this Olde Raleigh bourbon whiskey was perfection)

½ oz lavender syrup

½ oz fresh lemon juice

Dash of aromatic bitters

Instructions:

Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice.

Shake until well chilled.

Strain into a glass filled with fresh ice.

Garnish with a single wildflower.

Pairs best with: open skies, quiet strength, and a reread of Queen of Shadows while crying over wyverns who deserve the world.

There’s more magic in the mix...

Every Fantasy Friday, I craft a new character-inspired cocktail—some fierce, some floral, all of them poured straight from the pages we love. Got a favorite character you think deserves a drink? Let me know.

Until then, may your skies be clear and your bourbon be strong. 🖤
