Teachers here in NC are extremely underpaid, but they don’t have to be under-appreciated! To help with end of year teacher gifts, it is helpful at the beginning of the school year to have your teachers fill out a short questionnaire so you can learn their likes, dislikes, allergies (important if you’re going to be spoiling them with candy or homemade treats!), places they like to shop, favorite restaurants, whether they like cats vs. dogs, red or white wine (or maybe beer)… you get the idea. If you have a room mom, they can help get this questionnaire answered. It will help you give your teachers something they will love and appreciate.
Perhaps your teacher drinks lots and lots of coffee because he needs a pick-me-up to get ready for the day, the children and all that demands. Or maybe she likes to kick her feet up and unwind at the end of a long day with a glass of wine. Or you just want to get her something pretty to hang on her bag, her wrist or her neck. Below are some gift ideas from zoo&roo for your favorite teachers.
Whatever end of year teacher gifts you give, don’t forget to have your child write a thoughtful card or draw a sweet picture. These small gestures are more treasured than most store bought gifts.
When all else fails, just get them a Target gift card!
